This story is a fantasy because the frogs and the toad talk. You wouldn't see a frog talking every day.
The plot in this story is strong even though the story is short. The conflict is person-vs-person because the frogs bicker with each other. The conflict reaches a climax when the flood waters have
Show More
risen over each of their pieces of earth and they hav to share a single rock. The conflict is resolved when the flood waters recede and the frogs share the island with each other.

It's Mine! is a work of fiction and has colorful collage illustrations. It is an easy fiction read. This book could be read during story time or if the teacher is having behavior problems in the classroom.

It's Mine shows students to share and not be stingy. Do not always say mine, it’s yours or ours.

Lydia, Rupert and Milton are three very selfish frogs. One claimed the water, another claimed the land, and the last claimed the air. A wise old toad swam over to them from across the pond to try and make them see how silly they were being but this did not stop the three little frogs. Along came a
Show More
dark and scary storm. All three frogs were terrified. In the water, there was only one rock for them all to share. However, after the storm passed, the frogs realized that it was not a rock at all but it was the wise toad. After going through this experience, the frogs learned that they needed to lean on each other and the three of them did not argue about what was their individually, but now agreed upon how objects were "ours".

This is a cute book about three frogs who "quarrel" over everything they see claiming it to be "theirs" until a thunderstorm comes and causes them to share a rock. This is good for young children to teach them how to share.

This story is about three frogs who live together and always fight. They never want to share things with each other. One day, a toad comes to them and tells them how unpeaceful the pond is with them fighting and they should get along. One night, there was a bad storm and there was only one pebble
Show More
for the frogs to hold on to. Eventually, they saw that it was the toad and he had saved their lives. They were glad to all be together and started sharing with each other.

This would be a great book for a teacher to read to a Kindergarten-2nd grade class. The story is about 3 frogs who live on an island together. The 3 frogs fight about everything and they hate to share. At the end of the story, the frogs realize how lucky they are to have eachother and they also
Show More
realize the importance of sharing.

This is a good example of fantasy. This book is fantasy because of the fact that the main characters are talking frogs. By having the frogs talk, it immediately is no longer realistic. This is a good example because of the way that even though talking frogs aren't real, it is made to be believable
Show More
and relatable. I am sure everyone has experienced selfish people and learning to share. The fantastic element is also central to the story.

This book is unclear on what type of setting it has. It is an integral setting since it has a specific place like Rainbow Pond. However, it is no specific time. With the lack of time, it makes it a bit of a backdrop setting too.

There are three frogs who live on a lake. They are always arguing what belongs to them. One day a toad comes to them and tells them how horrible all their fighting is. One night there is a storm and they can only find one rock to hold on to and they learn everything is better as ours.

Genre: Fantasy
This is a good example of fantasy because there are three frogs named Milton, Rupert, and Lydia and they all fight at the beginning of the book and are selfish but by the end they become friends and nice to each other because of Mr. Toad who acts as their rock when a flood comes and
Show More
wipes away their house land.
Setting: was on the land by the water, which was super important to the story because without the right setting the frogs wouldn't have been fighting about thinking something was "mine"
Theme: Teaching on not being selfish and working together. Living in harmony was the underlying theme of this story.
Art Media: Paper collage and pencil for frogs frowns and smiles

On a small island in the middle of Rainbow Pond, lived three frogs. They are constantly fighting over what is their's. They are always screaming "It's mine!" at eachother. One day a large toad asked them to stop bickering! It began to storm and the rain filled up the pond making their island
Show More
disappear. Only one rock remained uncovered by the water, so they all stood on it together. Little did they know what was really saving their lives.

This book teaches a lesson through the frogs. At the beginning the frogs are selfish and think everything is their own and do not know how to share. A wise old toad gives talks to them about sharing and by the end of the book after a long rain storm the frogs begin to share and respect each other.

This book is about 3 frogs who are always bickering. A toad that lives on the other side of the island tells them he can hear them all the way over there. A storm comes and the 3 frogs get very scared and begin to come together as friends. After the storm, the frogs are all nice to each other.

This

book could be used for vocabulary lessons or to teach children that it is better to get along instead of bickering.

This book is about 3 frogs that learn about sharing because they are faced with a hard time and get frightened. Finally by the end of the story instead of each of them saying "it's mine" they begin to say "it's OURS."

A story of three frogs who live on a lake and are always arguing. One day a toad comes along and tells how the pond is unpeacful with their fighting. One night there is a storm and only one pebble for the frogs to hide under. In the end the frogs are happy to be alive and glad to be all together.

Leo Lionni's "It's Mine!" is a wonderful story about three frogs - Milton, Rupert, and Lydia - who have trouble sharing. The frogs constantly fight about food and their space on the island. One day, a large rainstorm comes, flooding the island. As their land dwindles away, the frogs find safety
Show More
together on a rock. After the storm subsides, the frogs discover that they have actually found safety on a toad. Realizing that they survived because they worked together, the frogs decide to share everything.

"It's Mine!" is a cute story with a powerful message for young children. The story could be used as a tool for teaching students about the importance of working together and sharing. It's a great storyline with nice pictures.
