Personal Reaction to the book:

I loved this book. I am partial to farming books because I live on a farm, but this one definitely was accurate and enjoyable. My kids loved the book too and my two year old even picked out all the different things pictured in the book. This book paints a very good picture of farming in a way younger children can understand and enjoy.

Extension ideas:
1. This book would be a great book to read to students when studying about farms or before going to visit a real farm.
2. This book would be a great book to learn about animals on a farm and the different jobs done on a farm.
3. This book would be a good book to show children about responsibility and hard work and how that doesn't always mean it has to be unpleasant. You could introduce a class pet like a rabbit or something small that is found on a farm and the children can be responsible for its care and can see how important and enjoyable it can be.
