I own this entire series (birthday gift). It was okay at best it wasn't very original and it had a very predictable plot. I found as I read the series more I got less and less intrested in the girls problems, usually involving a boy and him being the enemy only she doesn't know until it's to late
Show More
and she's gotten to close to him. There I've saved you sometime and given the plot for almost every book in this series.

A novel that surely will pull you into the series. Each book is from the point of view of a different Daughter of the Moon. The first book is of Venessa Cleveland and the turning point of her life when she finds out she can turn invisible. This series explores each lives of the Daughters, the power

to take control, and defend what's most important.

I read 200 pages of this book

I recommend this book to people who like fantasy books.

High school sophomore Vanessa and her best friend, Catty, have magical powers. But while Catty sees her ability to time travel as a gift, Vanessa hates her own ability to turn invisible: she "tried to control her molecules, but in times of intense emotion, her molecules had more power than her

ability to restrain them and the light from a full moon seemed to fuel their charge." Vanessa wants to date the handsome, long-haired Michael and be like everyone else, but whenever he kisses her, her feet and hands start disappearing. Then Catty turns up missing, and Vanessa's new friend Serena (a mind reader) reveals that they are goddesses, Daughters of the Moon, who must battle the evil Atrox and its dissolute band of "Followers" (from whose souls Atrox has sucked all hope) who haunt the Los Angeles club scene.

A very fantastical story, that teen girls will love. (And older “girls” as well) It combines being special and cool with hints of Ancient Greece. Definitely, an original story. A fun beginning to a series.

Vanessa Cleveland has the odd power to turn invisible, though it’s not completely under her control. When her time-travelling best friend gets lost in time, Vanessa must face her gift and claim her rightful place among the goddesses to save her friend.

A light, fun, go-girls book that didn’t
Show More
really have any original ideas, but wasn’t horrible either. The writing is decent, and I didn’t have to cringe, but not particularly memorable either.

Goddess of the Night is the first of the thirteen Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing. This quick read, suspenseful series revolves around high school girls balancing teenage issues in addition to dealing with their acquired secret mystical powers of the moon and their fate of protecting

the world from the evil Atrox. The first book introduces Vanessa Cleveland and her emotional drama of having a new boyfriend, a troubled rebellious friend, and a sinking suspicion that she is being followed. She is thrown into extraordinary circumstances where she must react quickly because her friend’s life is at risk. The astounding descriptions of supernatural elements and the power of invisibility keep readers engaged. Ewing mixes mythology, fantasy, magic, love, friendship, and teenage drama to create an unforgettable and original story.

Excellent novel and a strong start to the series! The author's descriptions are so clear and vivid without being overly wordy and perfectly blends the drama of high school along with the drama of saving the world from a dark force. The plot is strong and the characters are real and complex. I

There was nothing especially captivating about this book. It reads like a teen soap opera. I am not inclined to pick up any others in this series.

This one didn't really resonate with me, the characters weren't too bad but it was full of some of the cliches that drive me crazy. This story centers around Vanessa who disappears when she's emotional. She finds that she's actually a Daughter of the Moon and has powers, which will wane but right
Show More
now she's special and she needs to do stuff to save the world, she bands with three other girls who have powers as well and they fight evil.

Not really my kind of book, it fell flat due to the concentration on clothing and image which doesn't resonate with me.

Vanessa and her friends discover that they are goddesses, daughters of the moon goddess Selene, sent by her to Earth to fight the evil Atrox. Vanessa can turn invisible, Catty can jump through time, Jimena has premonitions and Serena can read minds. This entire books series is highly entertaining
Show More
with the perfect blend of mythology, teen angst and the best kind of "boy drama." This series was my introduction to teen fiction and is a great one for girls who are reluctant readers.

Though I didn't like the concept so much, I enjoyed the characters and the story.
