In this book, a little crocodile really wanted a cookie but his mother insisted he get it another way than by just grabbing at it. He tried several techniques before he realized that she really just wanted him to say please and ask politely.

Using this book is a great opportunity to teach kids manners. Alfie, the Alligator, loves cookies. His mommy baked cookies, and instead of asking politely, he tries to grab one. She wanted him to ask politely, so she tells him to "think of a better way to get a cookie." What he does instead is not
