The Summer 2012 issue included a story that reflects on a woman’s childhood experience with having a hospitalized sister and her struggles at the time to find the words to express what she was feeling and who to express them to; a poem about seeking to find oneself; an essay on the importance of family members, friends, and mental health care professionals to support and encourage people with mental illness along their path to recovery; a fictional story about a character named Gord who must come to understand the source of his confusions and contradictions over specific details in his life; and a poem on being rejected and how this experience brings about negative thoughts and beliefs about oneself.
