SUMMARY
Jake and his family are preparing for Passover, but he's not really sure what Passover is. His mother explains the origins of Passover, including the story of Moses asking the Pharaoh to free the Jews. She then explains the ceremony they have called seder and the traditions that are

associated with it, including the specific food that is eaten and activities that occur.

REVIEW
I think this book is a great resource for younger students to learn about Passover. It covers basic knowledge of the holiday and the traditions without overwhelming the reader. The flaps allow younger students to interact with the book, making them more engaged. For example, students can lift the pot lid off of the pot and see that Jake's mom is making some sort of bread or dough. I enjoyed learning about a new holiday I was unfamiliar with. My only critique is that I feel like it could have included a little bit more information. However, since it was intended for younger readers, I think it was appropriate for the age group.
