The inter-racial grandmother. Just being picky but I would have liked
to see the inter-racial father instead of the grandmother. There is the
implicaiton of absent fathers being of colour here and I would rather
it was different. But I like the feel of the book and the enjoyment in
the pictures.
The

larger hardcover book is better for libraries to read at story time.

This story relates to a lot of children in the world. It discusses each persons family and how they are loved by their family. Reader's will fall in love with the characters in this book and identify with them.

3 adults show the love and adoration they feel for a young child. There are three different families but there is a common thread throughout. The illustrations are beautifully done and enhance the overall story.

Classroom connections: This book could be used to help explain the Caldecott award. It
Show More
could also be used to introduce literary devices such as repetition, and motifs.

I love this book so much. I love the biracial kid, just thrown in there, like it's no big deal (and so it shouldn't be!), and I love the not-quite-mine dialect, and I love the illustrations and the clear love between the grown-ups and their kids.

Not one bad word to say about this book, that's me.

It is based on 3 adults and the love and adoration they feel for a child. There are three different families but they are all connected. It shows you that even if people are different they still can have things in common. Plus, the illustrations are amazing. This book could be used to help explain

what the Caldecott award is or introduce what motives and repetitions are.

More More More Said the Baby is about 3 little children. They are playfully chased and swung around by their family, until they cry more more more!

Review: This book is a good example of realistic fiction because it deals with events that could happen in real life. It tells the story of three babies who are given loving attention by three different adults.

This book is a good example of realistic fiction because it tells the story of 3 babies and their interaction with mother, father, and grandmother. The names are not real names children would have, and but each story could happen in an interaction with a

family member.

The book contains three very short stories: "Little Guy," "Little Pumpkin," and "Little Bird." An adult plays with a baby in each brightly colored story.

Great story about the different types of people who love different babies. Really would be great for teaching a family unit.

Summary of Book: This book is about three babies and their caregivers. Each baby has a unique cultural background but when it comes down to the basics they are all the same. Each baby has their own special song that is sung to them as they are in the safe arms of dad, grandma, or mom.

Reaction: This book in not one of my favorites. The way the author chose to word some things sounds confusing. The pictures in this book are very colorful. I like that each baby has their own unique colored boarder for their section in the book. The illustrations in this book are interesting. Instead of it looking like the dad is catching the baby it looks more like he is throwing it to the middle of the room. The dad also has some awkwardly short shorts on for a guy. Another thing I found weird about this book occurred when the grandma tastes each of the babies toes. I just don't find that to be sanitary. It is teaching children that it is okay to put their feet in their mouth which can carry nasty fungi and bacteria.

Classroom Extension: This book could be used to identify different parts of the body for toddlers. There are even songs to sing about the body parts to help them remember where they are. A lesson on colors can also be taught using this books vivid color scheme. On each page you can ask children to identify the main colors.

Caldecott Medal Winner, 1997. A charming and lively picture book showing the similarities between babies in different families and of different races. Beautifully illustrated and fun to read aloud.

Summary: This book is broken into 3 short stories about 3 different toddlers and one of their family members. Each story has some of the same repeating words making them sound familiar and attracting the attention of the little ones you may be reading too. The brightly colored illustrations won
Show More
this book the Caldecott honor.

Personal Reaction: I honestly did not like this much. I find the wording to be awkward. Its not the type of grammar I want children to be emulating from me, or a book. I do like the multicultural aspect of the book, however, with the toddlers being from different ethnic backgrounds.

Classroom extension ideas: We could make up songs about toes and belly buttons to go along with the first two stories and babies being rocked to sleep for the last one.
We could use the bright colors on the pages to identify color schemes, having the children pick out the colors they recognize on each page.

3 little babys from 3 different countries who experience the same loveliness of their relatives. A perfect bedtime story for little children. Furthermore, the story is reflected in the very beautiful pictures which will let you browse the book twice.
Each illustration is in a frame and therefore,
Show More
each picture stands on its own. They nearly all have the same foundation: a little child or a little child is shown with one of its relatives. Painted with bright colors, it is a very lovely story of three children from different parts of the world who all experience the same kindness of their relatives.

Vibrant colors and adorable toddlers make for a fabulous combination here. Three seperate stories follow three multicultural toddlers as their respective caregivers share special moments with them. Older toddlers will want to act the stories out with their own caregivers, and this could also work
Show More
as a bedtime book since each story gets quieter and it ends with the final baby fast asleep. The gouache illustrations simply glow - it's no wonder this received a Caldecott Honor. Used for Baby Loves Babies baby storytime 5/8/09.

This story is about three different families and how they love their babies. There is a father and son family, a grandmother and granddaughter, and a mother and daughter family. This story shows that even though there may be differences in the families they still love the babies just the same. The
Show More
author of this book helped show that while some families may look different they are in many ways the same. This is a great book that teaches a wonderful message about unconditional love.

I love Vera B. Williams' sincere story telling and her distinctive gouache painting, picture frame-style illustrations. The repetition within the narrative and the drawings of babies will captivate young listeners, and the message will warm the hearts of parent readers.
