This book is about a frog named Betsy who is unhappy with hopping and jumping just like all the other frogs, so she teaches herself to dance. At first, the other frogs tell her that there is no room for her to dance while they are all hopping and that she has to find another place to dance.

However, they soon begin to notice her dancing and want to learn from her. Betsy teaches them how to dance and tells them that there is room for both dancing as well as hopping and jumping. I think this could be an interesting lead in to having students talk about things they can do that make them special, and give students an opportunity to share those with the class. If time permits, students could even teach other students in the class how to do those activities.
