and minerals. This book is also organized in such a way with pictures that include captions, breakdown of how to pronounce words, and includes a glossary. There are many other text features that are used. The big idea of this book is to help children to understand the processes that happen in order to certain types of rock (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic) rocks that are on the earth. The other big idea is to distinguish the difference between rocks and minerals.
