I definitely LOVED this book! It is a suspenseful Christian thriller/mystery book, that had me on the edge of my seat from page one. It was a page turner, for sure! I love the style of writing that Ronie Kendig uses...she adds humor with all the mystery and page turning suspense, really making this

a "jump out and capture me" kind of book. I also love the fact that she used God throughout the whole book, not just a little of Him in the beginning or at the end, but through the whole book. Wonderful!

I love all the characters, but I really felt a connection with Reece....he feels a connection to Shiloh from the start but he really tries his best to ignore those feelings....and Shiloh was such a great character, too, with her air of mystery about her! Beautifully done!

I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a good, clean thriller novel. It will have you captured from the beginning and you won't want to put it done until you have reached the end! This author has a talent for bringing a book to us that is filled with action, intense twists to the plot and unforgettable characters. I will recommend this book with the highest of 5 star praises and I anxiously await the release of Ms. Kendig's next book, the first in her  Discarded Heroes series--Nightshade--a wonderful sounding Military suspense book, due out July 2010!

all is not what it seems. With instincts on high alert Shiloh becomes involved in a race to not only stay alive but to find the truth. Reese Jaxon is assigned to keep an eye on Shiloh. She surprises him with her quick thinking and creative maneuvers. As he watches over her he begins to feel drawn to the beautiful and feisty woman he's trailing. Will they survive this high stakes games of cat and mouse?

An excellent debut novel. This author had me glued to the pages from start to finish. I basically read it in two sittings because I couldn't put it down! She gives you such rich details that you feel like you're there with the characters. I loved Shiloh and Reese. Shiloh is feisty and independent but wants so much to be loved. She knows God exists but has no faith in Him. Reese had a the strong, tough guy shell but inside ticks a tender heart. His reliance on God is what get's him through his missions. I thoroughly enjoyed the interplay between them. They were so well matched. I felt the story line and the characters were developed to their fullest. If you are looking for a story with lots of action, suspense and romance then this is the book for you. I HIGHLY recommend Dead Reckoning. Be sure your chair has a seat belt, it's one wild ride!!!

When you look at the pages in this book you might think it is going to be a long story, but let me just give you advanced warning; this book has so much action and is so fast paced you will be done before you know it, because you will be reading fast to see what could possibly happen next! Whew!

This book had so much action, adventure, mystery, and romance! I loved it! A big thank you to Ronie Kendig for doing such a great job on her debut novel!
Shiloh Blake is an underwater archaeologist, and in the opening pages she finds herself underwater with dead people falling down upon her. She doesn't know it yet, but she is in the middle of an international nuclear arms deal and there are those who don't like where she is diving and what she is finding. Shiloh realizes that she is in danger but doesn't know who she can trust. Growing up with a father who is a top-notch CIA guy, (but who Shiloh wants nothing to do with) she kind of knows how to take care of herself and get out of some tight situations. There is a guy though who keeps popping up and seems to want to help her. Can she trust him? Reece is that guy and you are going to love him because he is a great guy. Okay, just read the book because there is way too much action, intrigue and romance to possibly explain.

Granted, when one reads a book such as this, one should expect to put a little bit of common sense aside; however, the only word to use with this title is IMPLAUSIBLE! There were some moments of slight rapid-fire action, but ,otherswise, this is probably one of the worst books I have ever read in

this genre. The main character, Shiloh, is ridiculous; the romance with Reece is even more so; and then we are supposed to be drawn into a Christian theology. GIVE ME A BREAK! I can't remember how much I paid for this (Kindle owner), but if I paid anything, it wasn't worth it! YUK!

I thought I had a vivid imagination, but I've got nothing on the descriptive detail that lines every page of this book. You can almost feel the sticky heat of the breezes through the Indian marketplace as the main character gets into and out of and into and out of (you get the idea) trouble.
Btw,

she's not trying to get into trouble. It's the worst case of wrong place/time that I've encountered in quite a while, though. And the plot twists keep coming! That's why I only gave it four stars--I'm exhausted just from reading it!
On the other hand, this is the perfect book for anyone looking for a clean romance, an international espionage thriller, and a trip to an exotic locale all with Christian undertones. Absolutely astonishing. I'd love to know how long it took her to write this.
