I have read the two prior books in this series by Susan May Warren and enjoyed this one also. There was suspense and romance and it kept my attention throughout. I wanted to keep reading to find out how it was going to be resolved. I enjoy her books and would recommend them.

Author Susan May Warren concludes her thrilling, action-packed "Global Search and Rescue" romantic suspense series with Book Three, "The Price of Valor". Hamilton "Ham" Jones is an honorable man, a former Navy SEAL, deeply patriotic, and a man of unshakeable, abiding faith. He would do anything to
Show More
protect his country and those he loved. He founded his "Global Search and Rescue" agency to help those in need around the world. His team members were an elite group of highly-skilled warriors who were always ready to take on any assignment--no matter how high the risk. However, Ham's latest rescue mission is very, very personal--he wants to bring his wife, Signe, home. Having thought his wife dead for a decade, Ham had been recently stunned to learn that not only was Signe still alive--he had a daughter, Aggie, as well. Taken prisoner while working as an interpreter in the Ukraine, Signe had covertly sent intel back to the States while in captivity. When the situation takes a deadly turn, Signe finds a way to get Aggie to safety with Ham, but she warns Ham to stay away from Signe herself. Ham knows this will be the most important rescue of his life--he will be saving the love of his life and bringing his newfound family together. But what is the price of valor? How much must they sacrifice for love of country and love of each other? With a great leap of faith, and much faith in one another, can they stop terror in its tracks and start a new life as a united family? "Global Search and Rescue" is an exciting and involving series with memorable characters and compelling story lines. Highly recommended for lovers of inspirational romantic suspense.

Action/adventure, disaster, and romance genres combine to make this book a real page-turner. Protagonist Hamilton Jones, a former Navy seal, has built a successful entrepreneurial career for himself, and also leads a team of his friends in search and rescue type operations on an on-call basis. This
Show More
story puts him in the position of searching out his wife who had left him, not once, but twice before, and most recently had sent their 10-year-old daughter - whom Ham didn't even know existed - to live with him. The story moves quickly to Sicily where the team goes through a cataclysmic eruption of Mount Etna, then back to the US to be put in the position of saving the life of a newly-elected President. Along the way, Ham reunites with his wife, but is repeatedly led to question her loyalty to the United States of America. This thriller keeps you guessing as you move through the book wondering who will live, who will die, and which couples will come through the experience together.

Title: The Price of Valor (Global Search & Rescue #3)
Author: Susan May warren
Pages: 368
Year: 2020
Publisher: Revell
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
If you are familiar with the books of Susan May Warren, you know that she is master writer of suspense-filled tales. This series begins with The Way of The
Show More
Brave, where the former pararescue jumper Orion Starr is learning to live a life outside of the military. Orion has physical challenges since his injury and is now in Alaska where he hopes to recover in more ways than one. In the second book titled The Heart of a Hero, we meet again Jake Silver, who served as a Navy SEAL and whose romantic life might just lead him into danger once again. Now, in the third book, The Price of Valor, the audience gets to see deeper into the character of Hamilton Jones whom readers got glimpses of in the other books.
Hamilton has lost his wife and now he is faced with raising a child on his own but first he must rescue her. With all his training as a former SEAL, Hamilton must bring his daughter to the U.S. and out of harm’s way. While it sounds easy, there are more twists to the rescue and his past will keep readers turning pages until the very end.
With some series books can be read alone; however, with the intricacies of this book, I highly recommend reading the prior books first. Susan has written an edge-of-your-seat, heart-pounding and thrilling book to end her latest series! If you’re looking for books that will captivate you, entertain you and end with hope, look no further! I highly recommend Susan May Warrens books for those who love a good adventure with a little romance and endings you won’t soon forget. Enjoy the wild ride and share with family and friends the Global Search and Rescue books as they make great gifts.

This third book in the series, continues the dramatic action. This time Ham is sent by a U.S. senator (who is running for president) to find his estranged wife and retrieve a list of CIA spies. He and his team arrive in Italy just before Mt. Etna erupts and a tsunami destroys their hotel as well as
Show More
a good part of the town. As he attempts to re-establish a relationship with Signe and their daughter, Signe is on the run from a Russian terrorist.

Meanwhile, team members Jenny and Orion are unsure of their relationship after Jenny turns down Orion's marriage proposal. Both couples face lessons on forgiveness and trust as they confront their pasts, especially as evience emerges linking Signe to a terrorist attempt to assassinate the president.

This was an enjoyable read for those familiar with the series, although disaster follows disaster in an unbelievable fashion in each book.

I have always enjoyed Susan May Warren's series and this one is no exception! The Price of Valor focused on Hamilton Jones who we first met briefly in the Montana Marshall series. I love the characters, though it does get on my nerves when they harp on their issues/emotional struggles for too long.

It's always so fun how Warren ties characters together throughout her various books and series. The disaster that took place in The Price of Valor took me by surprise! I was glad to see the end of this book wrap up both this series, as well as the Montana Marshalls series. The person directing the international and civil problems in the last 8 books finally gets revealed. I actually can't believe that it has dragged out over 8 books because it doesn't feel like it! Warren does a great job of filling each book with its own separate story line while entwining that story with the larger story. There were many times when I simply couldn't put the book down.

This is the second book in this series I have read. As with the other book, there is a lot going on.Hamilton Jones is searching for his wife who he thought is dead, which takes them to Italy where a volcano erupts. The team members there are now search and rescue. Finding his wife and trying to
Show More
protect her from terrorist enemies while coming to grips with why she left is part of the fast paced action in the book. I do like the way these issues were tied up at the end. An enjoyable read.

I was blessed with the opportunity to read and review an ARC of The Price of Valor. I will say that for an ARC the editing was well done. There are about a handful of errors in the whole book.

I have read other books by Susan May Warren and even though it would be nice to have read these books in
Show More
order, it really was suitable to be a stand-alone book. But, since I have read others, though not in this series, I recognized some of the characters from the previous series.

At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like the book, but I changed my mind after just a couple of pages. I'm really not sure why I thought that, but I did truly enjoy the book.

The characters were strong and well developed. The story flowed well, also. There was a lot of mystery and contemplation but the story was well developed and was wrapped up nicely at the end. It kept me guessing throughout.

This is a Christian book but it is not preachy at all. It shows how faith is developed and strengthened in a very good fashion. In fact, the words from the preacher in this book could be used for many difficult situations.

I give this book a 4 out of 5-star rating. A 4-star book is a very good book but not exceptional. Most books that I like are 3 star. I was given this book with no requirements. The review is my own and freely given.

Thank you in advance to Revell (a division of Baker Books) for providing a complimentary review copy through Library Thing. A positive review was not required and all words are my own.

“The Price of Valor” is the thrilling, high adventure conclusion to the Global Search and Rescue series that
Show More
started in January with “The Way of the Brave”. Orion and Jenny’s story does get some conclusion in this book.

This is Hamilton “Ham” Jones’ story, most of which was established in the prior book – “The Heart of a Hero”. Jake and Aria are present in this book with the hurricane being mentioned as well.

Since some of the events referenced in this book were previously established in the two prior novels, it is best to read “The Way of the Brave” and “The Heart of a Hero” prior to reading this one. Those two books are how I was introduced to Warren’s suspense line. I do have a romance book of hers that I got for free but have yet to read.

There is a mention of rape in this novel. This is an off-page, prior to the book’s beginning event. Readers sensitive to that subject might want to take caution when reading it.

“The Price of Valor” is a multi-faceted, fast-paced, thrilling read set with a touch of international spy intrigue. Written intensely from the beginning with a natural disaster (volcano anyone?) to start things off, the pacing doesn’t stop thanks to Warren’s vivid and descriptive writing. It was definitely an exciting, thrilling, edge of seat intense read that produced some heart-stopping and head-whipping moments. There were a few issues with some past/present scene transitions which could be confusing though it doesn’t take away from the story.

In addition to more of Jenny’s background being revealed, so too is Ham’s which is expected since this is his story.

I was slow to get into this one for some reason, but as I stayed with it, it picked up and left me not wanting to put it down. Worse once it got halfway. I did find I liked it the best of the series, and it had far less technical language. As a Revell Reads reviewer for book one (#1) and winning book two (#2), I was eager to see how the series was going to end.

There is a hot issue in this novel with the Russia/election deal and some readers might find this a bit too close to reality. And, it could seem like this novel has political undertones – which it does, to a point.

The intensity of the intrigue and plot added to the enjoyment of this novel. It was slightly predictable which was Signe was going to turn. But, the author did her best to stir up quite a bit of doubt.

Somewhat spoiler here – fans of the Montana Marshalls series (“Knox”, “Tate”, “Ford”, “Wyatt”, and “Ruby Jane”) will be glad to see the return of some of the main characters (Ford, and Ruby Jane), a mention of one (Knox) and a supportive one from that series (Scarlett) appears here as well.

I enjoyed the Shakey’s Pizza reference as it was part of my childhood when I lived in California. I also enjoyed the “I Will Always Love You” (Dolly Parton) song inclusion as well.

This story, unlike some, is not wrapped up in the matter of days or weeks; it does go about one (1) to two (2) months, which is pretty interesting. Usually stories that drag out that become boring and monotonous. Not this one. It is hard to tell a story such as this without rushing it or dragging it along. Warren obviously masters story telling in keeping this interesting.

There is a lot of high-octane drama that seems natural with the series. I’m wondering what Warren has planned next and who next we’ll see.

As it is distributed by a Christian/Faith themed publisher, there are loads of references to God, prayers, and lots of bible quotes. Though, given what Ham and his crew does for a living – this is to be expected.

Fans of the author, the previous two books, and the Montana Marshalls series will more than likely enjoy this.

As soon as I can save up the money, I’ll probably be adding “Knox”, “Tate”, “Ford”, “Wyatt”, and “Ruby Jane” to my library – they’re on the Amazon wish list for certain.

I read another book in this series also. (I received both books through LibraryThing's Early Reviewers Program). It's romantic suspense or suspenseful romance (depending on which genre you feel is more prominent).

I think most of us would want a husband like Ham--someone who's always going to come
Show More
after us (and who has the skills to rescue us most of the time), someone who's able to forgive, someone who doesn't hold the past against us. Yes, Ham has his faults too--he likes to be the one in charge and he is a caring man so those he loves walking out on him does hurt him--but he also trusts God deeply and isn't afraid to talk about it.

I have to admit that Signe frustrated me through most of the book--though as her past was revealed, her behavior made more sense. I could understand her wanting to protect Ham and their daughter, but it also seemed like her defense was always to run away--a trait seemingly shared by another female character, which makes me wonder if the author has kind of hit on a one-note way to have her heroines be vulnerable.

It also bothered me that Jenny and Ry (Orion) took so long to talk to each other--neither seeming to want to make the first move and both needing prodding and advice from friends to go talk to the other. Sometimes I just wanted to lock them both in the same room until they talked to each other.

The suspense plot was better than the romances though and that kept me reading.

I also like that the author connects the characters of several of her series. Characters from her Montana Rescue series are mentioned and a few show up in this book. I believe she wrote another series with the Marshall brothers (Ford, Tate, Knox) and some of them show up in this book too.

The Price of Valor starts out exciting and mysterious, which I loved, but also depressing because of the ruined marriage between Signe and Ham. It felt hard to continue reading past the first chapter until it got more upbeat in the second chapter with a marriage proposal. After that, I finished the
Show More
book very quickly because of the intriguing plot and mysterious clues.

There are a lot of ups and downs with several relationships in this novel. It made it more interesting to see realistic fears and worries about each person's romantic feelings.

I received a free copy of this book. All opinions are completely my own.

A tale of deception, adventure, action and intrigue, also of love and forgiveness. A book to keep you sitting on the edge of your chair and read till it's all read! A great story!

This story is an adventure from the beginning. I have really been enjoying this series and getting to read how they interact with each other. I do think it would be good to read the books in order so you become familiar with the characters. The author does an excellent job of reacquainting two
Show More
people who have had a strained relationship. Navy Seal Hamilton is one tough person. He takes his job seriously and his daughter’s safety a high priority. The relationship he has had with the mother of his child is not exactly happy times. Ham has wondered what happened to Signe and if it is possible that a secret is being kept.

Signe I thought was a great character who was doing everything she could to keep Ham and their daughter safe. She is one person I would want on my side if I was going into harms way. Without giving away too much, let’s just say that the author explodes on the pages with secrets, deceit and danger at every turn. Can Ham and Signe forgive each other and work together? This has to be the best book I’ve read by this author. She takes risks and makes them work while using faith at the perfect times. Ham and Signe are center stage in the story with intense emotional moments that define their relationship. If you are wanting to read a story that has action, danger, surprises and a lesson on forgiveness, then grab a copy of this book.

I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads. The review is my own opinion.

Hamilton finds himself with a wife again. Thinking his wife was long dead, he discovers she has been kidnapped and has been living under false pretenses for the past ten years. When his daughter shows up out of the blue with a message from his wife, he has to decide what his next step will be. He
Show More
has to make a tough choice and decide what is best all around.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to find out someone I loved and thought was gone was still around. It would be hard to make the tough decisions between heart and head.

I received a copy to read, the review is mine.

"The Price of Valor" by Susan May Warren is the third book in the Global Search and Rescue trilogy. While I believe this one can be read as a stand-alone, you'll care a lot more about what happens to the characters if you've read the first two books. A new-to-the-series reader could absolutely
Show More
follow the plot and enjoy the story, but I felt much more invested in the outcome based on having read the series in order.

This volume focuses on the relationship between Ham and Signe, which has been teased in the first two books. I was thrilled to see their story taking center stage in this one, as enough hints had been dropped earlier to make me eager to learn their backstory, as well as to see what would happen in the present. I was not disappointed! Both characters are well-written and realistic, and their interplay (and issues) make perfect sense based on what the reader knows about each of them. To avoid spoilers, I won't go into any further details, but suffice it to say these two experience an exciting and intense storyline!

As a fan of the series, I was happy to see a few chapters devoted to Jenny and Orion as well. Aria and Jake got a couple of mentions, as did other Search & Rescue team members from earlier books.

This book is action-packed! It opens with the team on location in Italy for a mission. Just in case the actual mission wasn't exciting enough, there is a volcanic eruption followed by a tsumani. Of course the team leaps into action to help with the disasters. The descriptions of Italy, both natural features and man-made edifices, were detailed enough to allow the reader to "see" everything without bogging down the story.

Back in the states, the action doesn't let up. There is plenty going on with Signe's situation, and some loose threads regarding White (a friend-of-the-team) are addressed.

In terms of the Christian element of the story, Ham's faith is bolstered through conversations with old friends and new acquaintances. Signe's spiritual journey was more dramatic, as she grew up with little faith of her own, and has further to go. Both were beautiful examples of how God reaches out to people in their daily lives.

Natural disasters, political intrigue, spycraft, and relationship drama..."The Price of Valor" has it all! And Susan May Warren is equally adept at writing about all of these aspects.

Five out of five super-thin slices of perfect Provolone!

The Price of Valor is the third and final book in the Global Search and Rescue series. While it is ok to read this one without reading the first two, I believe the reader would better feel for the characters if the other books had been read prior.

Ham is a former Navy SEAL who is searching for the
Show More
love of his life and mother of the daughter he never knew he had. There is never a dull moment in this book and there were aspects of it that I certainly wasn't expecting. Although this is a Christian fiction book, some mature themes are present.

My thanks to the publisher, Revell, and Library Thing Early Reviewers for the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it.

"Besides, forgiveness doesn't really belong to me. It's the currency of heaven, and my job is to dispense it here on earth."

Oh, such a delicious ending to a great action-packed trilogy! There is a lot of forgiveness and grace as we delve into Ham and Signe's love story, from the young first love to
Show More
a more mature and understanding love when given their second chance. I loved how flashbacks and memories merged seamlessly into the present day timeline and how these tidbits allowed us to know Ham and Signe with all their layers, past hurts, and present hopes. Ham became multi-dimensional and I enjoyed seeing many facets of his character and not just the spiritually mature and encouraging side or the get-it-done practical side. Orion and Jenny have significant voices in this book and Pete Brooks from Montana Rescue series has a fun cameo appearance here.
Adventure, action, and suspense center around a natural disaster and its aftermath, as well as international espionage, betrayal, and a subversive group within the government trying to overthrow the leadership. This book lines up nicely with Ruby Jane from the Montana Marshalls series in timeline and provides a bit more info into that series' overarching plot of traitors within the government. But that plotline still doesn't quite have closure yet and you'll need to delve into The Epic Story of RJ and York for more.

It's an exciting and satisfying conclusion to Global SAR series. I received the book from the publisher via LibraryThing and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Susan May Warren delivers a show stopper once again! The Price of Valor is book 3 in the Global Search and Rescue series. The main character, Hamilton, has appeared in many other books as a secondary character. Readers will finally get the details of Ham's history with his wife, Signe and his

daughter. With many heart stopping moments, a natural disaster and the spy details, you will not be able to stop turning pages. I highly recommend reading the previous two books and then finishing with The Price of Valor.
