Description

My name is Rebecca Rafferty, and my mother has ruined my life. Again. I didn't mind her writing boring books for grown-ups. But now she's written one about an awful girl my age and everyone thinks it's me! Including the boy who delivers our newspapers, aka Paperboy, aka the most gorgeous boy in the whole world. Oh, the shame! And if that wasn't awful enough, the biggest pain in my class wants to use my 'fame' to get herself on the reality show 'My Big Birthday Bash'. I've just got to show everyone the REAL Rebecca. But how?

So what would you do if your famous writer mother went and wrote a book that sounded like it came from an amalgam of all the stories she heard you and your sister tell? Her first foray into young adult fiction? Where the main character actually had almost the same name as you?

happens to Rebecca and she feels a need to prove that she's her own person and not just the vapid character her mother created. Told in a diary form, this is a cute story of learning who you are and finding love. There were occasions where I felt it moved a little quickly but, dammit, she kept me up reading to see what happened next!
