created out of fragmentary evidence, sometimes saying more about they author than the works do about ms. garland). what thousands of garland fans tremendously respect mr. fricke for is his tenacious focus on the extraordinary performance legacy of this amazing woman .. his book is not his first nor his last effort on her behalf but it is the first of a number of incredibly significant contributions he has made to her memory and legacy .. reporting, correcting, enthusing ... contributing. fricke manages the hat trick of combining fandom and extraordinary facility with research and literary acumen. he is a treasure himself. and honors beyond measure 'the world's greatest entertainer'.
