Description

The Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller She will change your life forever... In the south-west of Ireland, rugged mountains meet bright blue lakes and thick forests. Deep in the woods, a young woman lives alone, forever secluded from the world, her life a well-kept secret. She possesses an extraordinary talent, the likes of which no-one has seen before: a gift that will earn her the nickname Lyrebird. When Solomon stumbles into Laura's solitary existence, her life is turned on its head. Pulled from her peaceful landscape to the cacophony of Dublin, she is confronted by a world desperate to understand her. But while Solomon knows the world will embrace Laura, will it free her to spread her wings - or will it trap her in a gilded cage? Like all wild birds, she needs to fly free... Lyrebird is a thoughtful, deeply moving love story; a story of the wild heart in us all and the quiet that lies underneath the world's noise.… (more)

I would basically say, the book was about how much does the society dislike or love someone who's different, they may love and they may throw stones the next minute; You may think you are given an opportunity but to realize its nothing exceptional and you are not actually given the choice, you are

thrown to agree with everything what others may have planned and you may only experience your own experience getting through that.

I found it as a slow read, I didn't had a favorite character as all of them were acting faulty at the times. Love triangle.

Bo is selfish and desperately aims for NEW DISCOVERY movie, attention and she lacks a common sense when it comes to manners and respecting others.

Her boyfriend, Solomon, on the other hand, is falling for Laura - the lyrebird as they name her, and realizes he has no balls to set firm boundaries - for himself and Laura, he just floats in his relationship boat, while his family completely hates his girlfriend, they love Laura at the first sight. He has no balls to continue what he started.

Laura, although has lived secured from outer worl almost all her life, and she has grown close to nature and its sounds, this is not Mougli, she speaks and reads, reads a LOT, but she lacks communication - well, none to blame. She has skilled her own living in the cottage, to cook and gather mushrooms, herbs, make own preservatives, basically live very less depending on the moden world. She has fallen in love a long time and does not know how to understand Solomon at all and then is left completely alone, alone to learn the worst experiences, learn to feel again and make new friendships.

I am up to read all the books by the writer, I can't say they have been all my favorites, but I am aiming to. I have to say I wasn't impressed by the book. It has unique and yet, interesting aspects of one being able to mimic all the noises starting from tapping on the smart devices, the writer literary takes you to picture how much noise is around us and we have learned not to hear it. I found the novel as about a person who has had hearing issues and hears for the first time, hears noise - all kind around the environment they are - either they like or dislike it.
