Notes
New addition to our collection : 1869 draft of the Book of Church Order. Richmond, VA: Presbyterian Committee of Publication, 1869. This was the second draft of the PCUS Book of Church Order, the first having been presented in 1867. Both drafts, as well as the first approved edition in 1879, contained only the Form of Government and Rules of Discipline sections. It was not until 1894 that an approved edition of the Directory for Worship was added to the PCUS BCO.
All editions of the PCUS BCO, from 1879 to 1960, were uniform in size, measuring approximately 15 cm. in height.

Editions from 1883 to 1960 were published by the Presbyterian Committee of Publication, Richmond, VA. The Committee of Publication had a long-standing arrangement with the firm of Whittet & Shepperson, also located in Richmond, and most of these editions were likely printed by them.
