PREFACE
The need, as never before, is for Christians to stand up for Jesus Christ in the midst of confusion, disillusionment, and increasing conflicts of the present day. As the Lord's people make their stand in obedience to the command of Christ they must learn to depend upon Him for care and deliverance. This is the hour of the Twentieth Century Reformation!
The temptation on every hand is to look to expedience and compromise and a false security; while God blesses implicit obedience to His revealed will. Faith in Him is the victory. This paramount blessing, which every believer needs to cherish, is the lesson of the Book of Esther. We must needs be aware of the fact that we count, each one of us, every Christian, for Christ, if we will serve Him according to His commands right where He in His gracious providence has placed us.
"The material in this book was first delivered as a series of Sunday morning sermons from the pulpit of the Bible Presbyterian Church of Collingswood, New Jersey, during the fall of 1944. They were broadcast at that time over radio station WCAM, Camden, New Jersey. This same exposition was given at the Harvey Cedars Bible Presbyterian Conference, Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, July 16-23, 1945.
