PREFACE.
By action of the Synod in 1949 a committee of three was appointed to be known as "The Committee on Revision of the Constitution." It was at the same time instructed to prepare and to print the revised Constitution at as early date as possible.
The Committee was instructed to insert in the new book, and in their proper places, all such actions of Synod taken after 1937 as had thereby become the law of the Church; to prepare a specific order of business procedure in all congregational meetings—both ecclesiastical and business meetings; and to include a very specific and complete index of the contents of the book.
