INTRODUCTION:
Letters to the Editor are often a tale of woe, sometimes a pain in the neck (especially if it is migraine Monday), and now and then a lift to morale.

The anonymous feature signed EUTYCHUS has provided such crisp and rewarding reading in the first one hundred issues of Christianity Today that the best of these essays are herewith published in an anniversary folio. Simultaneously, the mystery of their authorship is ended, and we disclose their contributor to be the Reverend Edmund P. Clowney of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, a gifted scribe whom I have known as such since the time when he edited the campus weekly, The Wheaton Record.

Through the years Ed Clowney has kept abreast of contemporary theological thought without loss of the biblical norm. Even now he is pursuing doctoral studies at Union Theological Seminary, New York. And as associate professor of practical theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, he knows the practical dilemmas facing the modem minister within the church's situation in life.

Ever since his pithy items have appeared in Christianity Today's letter section, "Eutychus and His Kin," people have eagerly looked forward to Eutychus' next essay. One thing is sure : from the very first Eutychus has never been dull. Readers who may have missed this fortnightly funfest, with its subtle concern for higher and holier service in the cause of Christ, will profit from this unique blend of humor and Christian reflection.

—CARL F.H. HENRY.
