In the period between 1838 and 1870 forty three Hamburg shipowners are said to have been involved in 250 departures of sailing ships for Australian ports plus an unknown number of sailings from British ports conveying people from continental Europe. This small book gives full details of all sailing ships from Hamburg known to have brought passengers to Australia. Extensive list of arrival dates to Australian ports.
