John Fidge, wife Harriett and their five sons (Lewis, George, John, Stephen, Frederick) arrived on the 'Duchess of Northumberland', Port Misery, 19th December, 1839. John Fidge's first land grant was 8 acres, adjoining Adey and Willunga Roads, known as Whites Gully.
