The family history of the Christie brothers, Alexander and Maxwell, who arrived in South Australia in June 1839. The Adelaide seaside suburb of Christies Beach derives its name from the family of one of Alexander Christie's sons, early farmers in the region.
Alexander and Maxwell Christie and their wives arrived in South Australia, on board the 'Sir Charles Forbes', 7th June, 1839. A & M Christie purchased Section 93 in District B for 80 pounds. Their town acre was in Hindley St.
