Local notes

Describes the ships and ship captains that have used the ports of South Australia since the first settlement of the colony.

This is a book born of the author’s love of the square riggers which sailed to South Australian ports up till the end of World War II, and the steam vessels which took over from them. It includes details of many of these lovely old vessels, and interesting stories about their voyages, as well as details of the shipping companies, shipbuilders and the dependence of the South Australian farmers on them.
