Christopher Sharam (1813-1890), son of John Baker Sharam and Mary Lake, immigrated in 1836 from England to Sydney, New South Wales (1845), engaged on a trading ship in the south Pacific. He married Ellen Patching in 1848 at Portland, Normanby County, New South Wales, and later settled at Penola, South Australia. Descendants and relatives lived in South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and elsewhere. Includes ancestry in England to about 1744, together with some family history about possible earlier origins.
