Change on Change is the story of that part of South Australia, the Southern slopes of the Flinders Ranges which has referred to in the book as the Northern Highlands. Very little is known of the Ngadjuri Aborigines, whose tribal grounds included the Northern Highlands. Rather than attempt a separate study of them, the author has woven into the fabric of the main story some glimpses of their life and their adjustment to white man's ways.
