I liked it because it was about a jaguar and I like jaguars. The jaguar was made of gold. The gem was really glass, because a guy switched it out.

Back Cover: Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose visit New York City! Dink's uncle is the curator of a museum with a dazzling new treasure--a statue of a jaguar cradling an emerald between its front paws. But when it's discovered that the emerald has been replaced with a fake, Dink's uncle is the chief suspect. He'll go to jail if Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose can't uncover the real thief!
Mine Well it’s summer and time for the summer reading program at the library. This is when most of my children & young adult books. I try to read some of the same books as my nephews. The older one loves the A-Z and Capital Mysteries.
I have to say this is a very cute series. What a fun adventure - Dink and his friends go to New York City to visit his uncle. Dink’s uncle is a curator for a museum and is getting ready for a very important exhibit of jeweled pieces. The key piece is a solid gold jaguar with ruby eyes hold a large emerald.
A noted appraiser comes to make sure the items arrive safely---but the main emerald seems to have been replaced with a large green piece of glass. Dink’s uncle seems to be a prime suspect, but the kids come to the rescue to prove that theory wrong.

I enjoyed this mystery. My daughter discovered who stole the jewel long before I did.
