Kids have fun clapping along (just make sure you don't start too fast and run out of breath!) Could work with younger and older kids.

This is very neat way to teach in a different way and to incorporate music into your classroom. The book is based on a had clapping game and it would be great to teach the students the clapping portion. The pictures are funny and the book is very creative. It is not the most educational, but it is

definitely a way to make reading fun!

A board book set to the song "Miss Mary Mack." It's a pretty good board book, with fun illustrations to go along with the phrases. My only complaint about it is that it's so repetitive to say that last word of each phrase three times that you pretty much have to sing the song while reading the book

so that it makes some sense. If you don't mind that part, then it's a pretty good board book all around.

This book is a recreation of my favorite childhood rhyme that I played a hand clapping game with my friends. "Miss Mary Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black." The silliness of the pictures would attract the attentin of the children, as the little girl asked her mother for fifty cents to see the

elephant, while seeing the large purple elephant jump the fence. Which after Mary help the elephant to clean up. The zoo keeper comes to take the elephant back and sorrow of Mary not wanted the elephant to go, so they both soar into the sky and finally landing gently with two umbrella.

This book is great with children interaction throughout the story. Children will learn the favorite childhood rhyme/chant quickly. It also get the children laughing with the silliness of the pictures. Have you even seen a purple elephant soar in the sky over a fence?

Extended Activity: Teach the children the simple hand-clapping game as they sing "Miss Mary Mack."

This book is an interactive nursery rhyme. The teacher and students and clap their hands to the chant or maybe make up their own verses.

The story of the hand game that every kid learns when growing up on the playground. The timeless tail about the elephant that jumped over the fence and went way to high. This one goes a little bit further, with more detail then the hand pat game, with some very nice illustrations. The story isn't

anything too special, but it does bring back the memories of elementary school. I think this is a very good book to have in the classroom for students to read because it gets them into rhyming, poetry and singing.
