Cute story blending baseball with science and robots. The rhyming verses keep kids attention to the story as Randy tries to solve the destruction of his town.

Summary: Randy Riley is a genius and plays baseball. He is unable to hit the ball but when his town becomes in danger Randy knows what he has to do. He built a robot and hit a home run and becomes the town hero!
Personal Reflection: I love baseball and I love watching the ball boys collect the balls
Extension Projects:
1. Have the students make paper robots from household items. And display them in the classroom
2. Take some time and take the children outside for a game of baseball!

after batting practice. Although this may seem like a small task I see it as a vital part of the team. This story to me tells a story of a boy who is very smart but saves his town from a catastrophe just like the ball boys do for the baseball teams. Extension Projects:
1. Have the students make paper robots from household items. And display them in the classroom
2. Take some time and take the children outside for a game of baseball!
