I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really loved the artwork and I felt like the text was engaging for children, especially because there were children in it. The text reliably returned to how the children experienced the journey, which would help put a child in the mind set of really being there. I

really appreciated how for different parts of the text, story versus background information for example, they used a different font. Also, on some pages they laid out the text inside the picture, which made me feel like the picture would go on forever if the page didn't end, and on some pages they had the picture be inside a white space in the page, which made me feel like I was looking through a window at the image or in a space with restriction. The book itself is laid out in a way that reminds me of some turn-of-the-century novels, which is good because it describes the ship voyage of a boat in 1913 and 1914. Overall I think the design was very well though out and engaging. Show Less
