I'd like to first of all admit that, yes, I do realize that this beautiful book could first and foremost be described as a very large, elaborate advertisement for LEGO toys, and yes, my son has not stopped asking for any of the builder sets featured, but this in no way takes away from how cool

these creations are! We had gone in April to the Park Meadows Mall to see the LEGO Americana exhibit and were duly inspired and impressed by the huge, intricate, and totally amazing models along with the interesting facts and figures for each construction, so I could not help but bring this book of LEGO recreations of famous architecture home after running across it in a display here at the library highlighting architecture around the time of Doors Open Denver. Each model featured includes information about the original that inspired it as well as some background about how these models start and evolve in the minds and hands of the master builders who create them. And who knows, maybe our young ones will start out with LEGOs and continue on to become fabulous architects creating the buildings of the future!
