I really enjoyed reading this book to my children. Matthew (5) especially enjoyed the way the author used word play in the text. The entire story takes place at the Kindergator School. Mrs. Millie likes to tease her students by substituting words when she is speaking so her sentences do not make

sense. For instance, when she greets the students in the morning Mrs. Millie states “Good morning, children. Please hand up your goats.” The students respond with “Don’t be silly, Mrs. Millie! You mean our coats!” Throughout the text Mrs. Millie continues this wordplay with her students. Judy Cox has produced an excellent story which students will love. One of the main reasons students enjoy reading is for imaginary purposes. By reading this text, students will enjoy imagining that the events which Mrs. Millie describes will actually happen. In addition, students adore books which are humorous. As a result, they will enjoy reading this book because the events which occur will keep them laughing! Joe Mathieu does an excellent job illustrating this book. The children, animals, and Mrs. Millie are all likable characters. The illustrations are a wonderful supplement to the story, and the students will love looking at pictures such as a gorilla cheese sandwich.

Mrs. Millie is a teacher in a kindergarten classroom and she is very silly! She tells her students to hang up their goats, and for snack they will have parrot sticks and quackers! Her students are quick to correct her by say "don't be silly Mrs. Millie you mean coats, carrot sticks and crackers"!

This book is about how teachers can make class fun and silly, while still incorporating learning thoughout the day, The illustrations are cute with them all resembling the characters that Mrs. Millie mixes her words with.

This is a book about a teacher who says things that rhyme with what she really means. She does it to be silly and keep her class paying attention. She is also doing this to incorporate different words into the day. The illustrations are fun and eye catching. It wasn't my favorite book.

Mrs. Millie has lots of fun teasing her kindergartners. She tells them to hang up their goats, eat gorilla cheese sandwiches, and to remember to wear their bats and kittens when they go outside for recess. Coupled with hilarious artwork that literally interprets each of Mrs. Millie's "mistakes,"

this lighthearted read-aloud sets a typical school day on its ear, even as it teaches a subtle lesson on wordplay.
