Description
The account of nursing service in post war Korea describes needs of children, especially orphans. Nurses recruited for relief service by Mennonite Central Committee were on loan to American Korean Foundation to serve in Pusan Childrens Charity Hospital, a Masonic Hospital founded by the United States Medical Corp. For years the hospital was supported by Masons through an authorized agency in Washington D.C. Current news items concerning the famine in North Korea and the fledgling efforts for reunification appear to describe the suffering of children similar to South Korea in the 1950's. Korea Odyssey describes the unimaginable hardships of the era and the courage of the Korean people to build a nation which could rightly take its place among the developed nations.
