Lovely little coming-of-age story about being a responsible person. Takao's father won't let him help in the family's pottery business because he's still too irresponsible. One day he and his sister got into a fight and his father got distracted from the kiln. Next thing they knew, the kindling

outside of the kiln caught fire and their whole compound was in danger! Luckily the house was saved but Takao knew it was his fault the kiln and workshed burned down. What Takao then does with the samurai sword left him by his grandfather helps his parents realize that perhaps he is ready to help in the business after all.
