This book of poetry contains all types of poems on a lot of different subjects pertaining to children. I read the poems "What is Red?" and "What is Orange?" Both of these poems talked about the way a color can make one feel and images a color can bring to mind such as red is a sunburn and orange is

a flame.

I love colors! I love poetry about color!

I would use these poems in an activity during art with older children. The students could then use color to demonstrate a feeling or object. Younger children I would use these poems during a lesson on learning the color wheel.

There are many wonderful poems in this book and many different types of poems. A teacher could use this book to entertain young children or help teach older children about the different types of poems. Also, there is a poem for about any subject and a teacher could read the poem that coincides with

the lesson just to reinterate the meaning of the lesson.

I like this poetry book because it contains lots of short poems that are organized by theme so it makes them very easy to pick out and add to lesson without taking a lot of time. I would for sure keep this book in my classroom. It also has very cute simple pictures on some pages.

This anthology basically covers the best children's poetry of all time (except for late 80s-90s poems). They have poems in here such as Mother Goose and Lewis Carroll.. All of our favorite poems that we remembered as young children. I loved that fact how it all came together into one book!
