Description

Juvenile Fiction. Beginning Reader. HTML: In this color-drenched interpretation of Aesop's fable, a mouse, in colorful attire suitable for a night on the town, finds herself trapped by a caged lion in the city zoo. The mouse begs to be released and promises to help the lion one day. The lion is skeptical but releases her nonetheless. Later that night, the mouse returns with mouse friendsas spiffily attired as she herselfand together they unlock the lion's cage and prove that "little mice can be big friends." An I Like to Read book. Guided Reading Level E..

The lion is about to eat the mouse when it begs it not too. So then the mouse brings all her friends over to help the lion get out of the cage. The mouse ends up saying, "Little mice can be big friends."

The simple sentences are good for young children and early readers/writers. The illustrations

are VERY unusual and a highlight of the book, really. A good beginner book.

Great use of lines and shapes in the illustrations. occasional rhymes. The book is an easy book to read and understand and I would recommend this book because i believe children will learn that true friendships can be found across different sizes, colours, abilities and disabilities and so they
Show More
should not limit themselves whilst making friends. "See? says the mouse, Little mice can be big friends"
