Too dated. More than once the Indians were described as childlike, easily manipulated & easily cowed. The men were tall and handsome, and the bent squaws shuffled. At least they were mostly honorable and mostly trustworthy, and at least the women (white or red) weren't described from a sexist

perspective, but were smart and brave. I can imagine the adventures appealing to young readers of the thirties, but thank goodness we've moved on and have other books to choose from now.
