I liked the illustrations in this book. They were all unique and were drawn in only black and white. It's a good research and history book. it mentioned many different cultures who all shared a common food.

Great nonfiction read to share with students 3rd grade and up. The information is presented in a way that grabs the readers' interest. Who knew the history of the potato could be so fascinating? It was a great companion book to our study of the Inca.

The book consists the history of the potato, farming, and ways to cook a potato. I would read this book to a class while being on the topic of agriculture and farming. I did an activity in my children's literature class where we went over different vegetables and things that pertained to

agricultural things. I enjoyed the activity very much and would like to do an activity similar in the future with my students.
