I read this book to a group of children ranging from 5 to 8 and they all got a kick out of it. Maybe just from the anticipation of eating the M&M's. This book flows as a poem with colorful M&M's on each page. Math lessons include addition, subtration, division and multiplication.

Overview-This book is a children's book of using M&M's to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. It goes about these in a fun rhyming way and has the students do as they say. It teaches these things as the book goes along an also has a review at the end.

Personal Reaction- I thought this was a

great book for students to read when they are first beginning in the math process. It involves candy, rhyming, and fun so the children will be very attracted to learning this way.

Classroom Extension Ideas
1. The teacher can give each student 20 M&M's and as she reads the students can do the activities it says to do.

2. Another fun idea would be to have one student do this alone with the teacher if they struggle in math. This book would be a fun way to remember some of the basics.

This book flows very easily and it is fun to read, I can only imagine actually reading it with a classroom full of children. I feel as if they would enjoy this very much as they will get a treat at the end. While going through they are practicing their math skills but they probably would not

realize this much because it is so interactive and seems like a game since the words rhyme.

This book is a book about math and learning how to count and do simple math problems. Using m&m's students sort, add, subtract, multiply and divide. This is a great way for students to learn math while having a motivation and a fun way to practice. This book is for grades second and above.
