This is a fantastic example of a fantasy book. It tells the tale of a girl who gets a crocodile for Christmas. The crocodile goes on to eat all sorts everything in sight including gifts and the Christmas dinner. The story is believable as a story but has fantastical parts of the story of things

that would never happen in real life.

I love this silly holiday book! The family finds an unusual gift of a crocodile under their tree on Christmas Eve and it proceeds to wreak havoc. The repeated refrain, "The Christmas Crocodile didn't mean to be bad, not really," is always followed by "but..." and yet another episode of destruction.

The eccentric family members and crazy plot make this one a delight. Though my children are really now too old for picture books, I make them sit and listen to this story each Christmas!

I enjoyed the book and found it entertaining. I showed that childlren can find good in most situations. The picture went along with most of the book and was easy to follow. I would be a fun read for Christmas and maybe a good for a reptile lesson. Compare real crocodiles to the one in the book.

This holiday book is absolutely adorable! The kids really enjoy the funny illustrations, and the hilarious situations that the crocodile gets into! This book sheds light on the innocence of children, and shows how kids can find the good in every circumstance. This is an interesting book to read to

kids, because it takes the regular holiday tradition and turns it around. You could also create a little writing activity to go along with this book, and have the kids write about what they think will happen to the Christmas Crocodile next.
