Caroline and her family are adjusting to living in Concord, and things are coming together. Caroline's mother marries Mr. Holbrook, and the family has to adjust to a new "Pa." This is a happy addition however, and the family struggles through helping to build a mill, a cholera epidemic, and an

early frost. Everything comes together at last, however, and the family finds themselves stronger than before.

interesting finally, and that there are some serious community issues discussed such as Camp Meeting, for example. I now have to get the next from the library though because not much happened about Martha here and she had been the one with the most interesting potential.
