Mrs. Frizzle turns her class into bees so that they can explore a beehive from the inside (of course). The kids learn everything about bees, how they work together, how they live and swarm, etc. The beehive is even attacked by a bear. A little disturbing, but at least they become kids again at the

end.

I would use this book for 3rd-6th grade. Its a fun way to teach a class about bees and beehives. The class turns into bees and goes inside a beehive to explore it for a field trip. It gives students a feeling of being there too and whats it like from the inside of a beehive, how it is made, and how

bees live.

this is a great book for students. It takes children through a beehive showing them how everything works. It not only gives factual information but has a story line.

In this book, the class shrinks down to the size of bees and goes into a beehive. They helped the worker bees do their job, they watched the queen bee lay eggs, and they watched the larvae turn into adult bees. The children and Miss Frizz help the bees gather nectar and pollen. The even help the

bee colony chase off a bear.

The Magic School Bus books have always been one of my favorite series. This one was a great book with very detailed instructions of what bees do and what they go through in their lives. It also helped to explain how bees carry pollen from flower to flower. It was a very good book and I liked how they put the extra notes along the sides of the page. This was a very fun book to read.

Of course, I would use this book on a unit for bees. It would give the students a great understanding for what bees are like. I would also use this book on a unit for the season of spring. It helps to explain how bees carry pollen and make more flowers.

I love this series! I enjoyed these books when I was young, and I really enjoyed reading it again. The pages are colorful, and are full of pictures, notes, and dialog between characters. The best part about this story was, of course, the mistakes that Ms. Frizzle and the gang encounter on their
Show More
science excursions. However, the reader cannot escape the facts that he or she is presented with: the author/creator depicts science information (in this book, beehives and bees) in a creative, interesting way. The vocabulary is pretty easy for young elementary students to hear, but reading some of the words might cause some problems for them. I think that any elementary student (k-8) would be able to gain some knowledge in an enjoyable way. Overall, I would recommend this book to youngsters.

The Magic School Bus series are extremely educational and filled with fun science facts. In this story, the bus shrinks and adventures through a bee hive, past the stinging bees to see how honey is made. When you open the book, your eyes wandering along the entire page. The have the story itself

and all along the illustrations are fun-filled facts about bees, honey, and pollination sometimes on note book pages. There is so much to read in this book, but the way it's laid out makes it interesting to read. I think this book alone is an entire science lesson of honey. It has every detail in it.

These books are so great I absolutely love them. This book was about Mrs. Fizzle and her students and how they took a ride in the Magic School bus inside a beehive. They shrunk down to the size of bees and went and explored they were able to see the queen bee lay eggs, and the worker bees collect

pollen and nectar.

Personal Reaction: This book is so great, kids can really learn from the excitement of the yellow school bus that goes and explores. I remember reading these when I was a kid and I would tell myself how awesome it would be to really be able to do that.

Classroom extensions: The students could watch the actual movie of the Magic school bus beehive and then we could all taste some honey after.

:) As a parent, my favorite thing about the series is that there is tons of detail for kids that want it, but you can just skip all the sidebars if you need to shorten things up for your sanity.
