This book is a "retelling" of the original Grimm fairytale, but even so, I still think it is dark. Of course, I read these stories when I was younger, and yes, they did scare me, but they're classics, so I still think that children should be aware and familiar with them. At the same time, it's

definitely not something that I believe should be necessarily taught or read in a school, especially to the younger elementary students. It is something that they should read when they are ready, or when their parents want them to.
