The copy of this book that I read was a pop-up book, which automatically makes in enjoyable to the younger crowd. I think it would be better to read, instead of to a class, to a child or individual. If you read it to one child on his or her birthday, all of the students might wish to do the same,

which will get entirely too repetitive.

This book was incredibly good. My roommate loves this book so much that she asked me to personally read it to her. I would read this book to a primary class because it would make them laugh and I would read it if I thought that they were having a down in the dumps kind of day. The characters in the
Show More
book all have funny names like a "hippo-heimer". I would absolutely reccomend this book as well as any others written by Dr. Seuss.

about the birthday events that take place in a place called Katroo. Dr. Seuss always does an amazing job at making books so fun and interesting. I think that this would be a really good book for any teacher to have in the library. It would be a fun activity to do with children on their birthdays!

The happy birthday would be a fun book to read on a child's birthday. For each child's birthday, the teacher could read a birthday story. The book is great with ryhming, and a fun book for children to read.

This Seuss title is about a birthday bird who spends your whole birthday with you making sure you have the most interesting, fabulous day of your year!

The man had an imagination, that's for sure. Some of his landscapes are positively psychedelic. The scene in the Birthday flower jungle has flowers
Show More
smelling like licorice and cheese (what a combo). I think, again, Seuss taps brilliantly into that childlike part of everyone that sees limitlessness as a possibility - just more scope for the imagination. It's very intriguing that so many of his designs swirl and bend in on themselves in a sort of goridan knot.

That said, I appreciate his works more aesthetically and from an intellectual perspective than from true enjoyment.

A young boy is spending his birthday with the birthday bird in Katroo. Throughout the day the bird takes the little boy to do things that on a normal day would not be okay, but because it is his birthday he can do whatever he wants! This book teaches that you should appreciate the idea of being you
Show More
& recognize that everyone is unique! This book is quite long, but when celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday in class, this book could be read aloud.

-This books is about a birthday bird that comes to a little boys window because it is his special day. The bird lets the little boy have fun and do whatever he wants. They both have a fun adventure for his birthday!
-I would have a Birthday for everyone and have a bunch of
Show More
activities for the children. since it is a rhyming book I would have rhyming games. For example one group can do a jeopardy game asking what rhymes with cat? etc.
-each kid can come up with their own poem about their own birthday. (3rd grade level)

Happy Birthday To You is a great book to read about birthdays. It is a funny, silly book that students will love as they love all other Dr. Seuss books. Not only is this book about birthdays, but it also has the great theme of telling children that it is great to be them. The book is all about how
Show More
being you is a great thing and if you were not the world would not be the same. There are of course many made up Dr. Seuss words so it may be a better read aloud book than read alone for younger students. This book has a great theme and would be a wonderful addition in any classroom.

I adore Dr. Seuss. It is no surprise to me that I adored this book. I love it all, maybe because I grew up with his books. I would love to make this book a tradition in my classroom. Read it for every birthday that happens in my class. I think that was one of the best parts of elementary school.

The special birthday treatment: the crown, candy, certificate, sticker. Why not make a special birthday book a part of that. Even after a while the kids would start to remember it and even depending the grade level, they could take turns reading the different pages. It's just a thought though. I just really want to be the teacher that creates special memories for my kids.

Birthdays are very important to children because it is a day that is dedicated just to them! Dr. Suess expresses the importance of Birthdays in this book by helping a child create a magical day for them. The food, people, parties, and music in this book helps show how special birthdays are for
Show More
children. This book is fun and imaginative for children to have and gives great ideas to what special things a parent can do for their own children.

a book that would make a child's birthday special.

A confusing book about a boy and a bird. The bird is like a fairy tale. It takes the boy to places he never went to and the boy in response wants more and seems to be content. A really fun place the bird takes him to is the pool. The pool has many steps and fountains and he could just dive from one
Show More
place to another.

Happy Birthday To You by Dr. Seuss is a book using rhyming that tells about what happens at birthdays in Katroo. In Katroo, they have birthday birds that grow there and go to every child on their birthday and grants them the wish of whatever they want to do.

I like this book a lot because it uses
Show More
rhyme to teach children about birthdays. It is also a fun book to get children thinking about what they would want to do for their birthdays even though it cannot be on as grand a scheme.

I would use this book to read each month when we celebrate the birthdays for that month. It would be a fun book to read.

I have always loved reading books by Dr. Seuss because of all the great rhyming that they contain. I specifically chose to read this book because it was about birthdays, and as children everyone looks forward to that special day where everything gets to be about the birthday boy or girl. This book
Show More
was something very fun to read and should be read to kids on their birthday just to remind them how great they are!

Happy Birthday to You! by Dr. Seuss tells what the birthday bird dos in Katroo. This would be a great book to read to any birthday boy or girl. Dr. Seuss writes in a way that whoever reads the book will feel special. Students can learn about birthdays in Katroo and how great it is to be yourself. I
Show More
love this book and every year, when I was younger, my parents would read this book to me. The part that stuck out the most to me is, "Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive that is you-er than you!" That always made me feel good because I felt irreplaceable and I felt that I was important. I think that it is important for people to feel that way. You have a totally different outlook on life.

I enjoyed this book a lot and I strongly believe in ready Dr. Seuss books to children. I would read this book probably while doing a lesson plan with Dr. Seuss books. I would enjoy to read this book on Dr. Seuss' birthday and kinda make a week of Dr. Seuss activities.
