Description

This is perhaps the best and most comprehensive book on prayer ever written. From the persons of the Trinity through the Incarnation to the Church and the very structure of the human person, this book is a powerful synthesis of what prayer is and how to pray. The testament of a great theologian on something which is most personal and interior, contemplative prayer.

This book provides a theological justification for prayer within the Christian tradition. It should be noted that this book is an exposition on prayer in the Christian tradition and not about prayer as experienced in an interfaith context. This is not a criticism of the book but rather an

explanation of its scope.
This is not a "touchy-feely" book. The book is a systematic and logical explanation of prayer within the life of a Chrisitan. While this might make it sound dry, in fact, the book is quite poetic in its explanation of how prayer is the means of communication with God and how prayer effects one's relationship with God and with each other.
