actually arrested for violating varied rationing laws. they were suspected of hiding Jews, but no evidence was found. They also had connections with the underground, though apparently for the sisters, not enough to get them executed. They lost all to help their motherland, their fellow Hollanders, and those who couldn't help themselves in this cruel world they found themselves in. They worked with the disabled, hid young people subject to seizure for forced labor, assisted the underground, and hid the oppressed from harm. A bit preachy at points, it is still an entertaining and enlightening watch. Show Less

Boom family, including Papa (Arthur O'Connell), Betsie (Julie Harris), Corrie (Jeannette Clift), Willem (Robert Rietti), Peter (Paul Henley), and Kik (Richard Wren), make the decision to house Jews who are escaping persecution and death from the evil German occupation.
