A wonderful retelling of a story about the young St. Brigid. A poor slave girl must decide whether she can afford to give the last of her family's butter to the poor beggar woman who comes to their door. What is a 10 year old to do?

The prose of this story flows well, so as you read it aloud to your

kids your tongue isn't going to trip over the words. The pictures, too, won't disappoint. Stott adds a graceful touch to these adorable, yet modern, illustrations.

A great picture book to add to your St. Patrick's day collection, Catholic saint collection, or even just your general read aloud collection. It doesn't disappoint.

Note: The publisher sent me a complimentary copy of these books with the hope that I would provide (favorable) reviews. Complimentary books don’t necessarily make good books, though. My opinions are my own.
