Designed as an apologetic tool for Catholics to show non-Catholics (particularly protestants) the Biblical basis for most major Catholic doctrinal points, including the more controversial ones. It doesn't duck any topics which is good (surprisingly even including the Inquisition). However much of the reasoning he gives for why Scripture supports many doctrines is unconvincing. It's clear that the Catholic Church clearly still leans on its Tradition heavily.

He does start with a good point about different interpretations that are possible (though in a slightly unfortunate dig against evangelical protestants), so it is worthwhile to hear the mainstream Catholic interpretations.
