Description

The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center celebrated the Silver Jubilee Year in the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II with a beautifully bound volume featuring more than 200 photographs from the archives of L'Osservatore Romano, the Vatican's official newspaper. Thought provoking essays by eight Catholic bishops and scholars are also included. Inspired by John Paul II's encyclical, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, this monograph uniquely demonstrates his devotion to the Eucharist, which was at the centre of his 25 year pontificate.

and the Church, unlike many photobiographies merely show him as a world leader. It has an elegant, prayerful feel to it in the design, and many of the most stunning photographs have never been published before. I look at it again and again and always get something new from it.
