Hubie, it gives a real feel of how students feel about a new student coming in. He is nervous about the new student coming because of all the mean things he can possibly do to the students. By Hubie thinking he is a bully, he feels he will have to learn how to run fast away from him, put a layer of armor on to school, go to the nurses office throughout the day, etc. The book teaches students to keep an open mind because in the end, the bully he thought the new student would be, really isn't a bully at all. The characters in the book are well-developed and descriptive. The bully, is well described throughout the entire story. The story creates fear of him in a humorous way. The illustrations are colorful which create a better understanding of what Hubie expects from the bully. On the page with the students in the nurse, it is very funny because of all the students in the nurses office and the captions that follow.
