Silly Sally is on her way to town, but she is headed there in an unusual way. As she is walking in her silly way, she comes across several different characters. Her silly new friends join her by walking with her in her silly way.

The pictures are fun and the rhyming is good in this one. I just don't think it's that great is all. It's not that funny. I love Audrey Wood, she's fantastic. Maybe if you're in on the joke or have a child named Sally or something then it's funnier. Really, it's ok.... I guess I just had higher

expectations considering the author. My son, age 3, also thought it was just ok.

This book is about a woman named sally who goes to town upside down. On her way to town she meets other animals who have interesting ways of walking to town with her. When they get to town there is a big celebration for them.

This is a silly story about a girl named Sally. She attempts to make a trip into town walking backwards and upside down, but she finds numerous distractions along the way. Some of the characters she meets include a pig, a dog, a loon, and a sheep. But does Sally ever make it to town?

The bright
Show More
colors and lively characters are very appealing to the eye. I love reading this book with my niece because it inspires her to be silly. The phrases are short and simple, but they provide a good way to exhibit rhyming words. The text is also repetitive and easier for emergent readers to grasp.

As a classroom extension, I would use this book to enhance or introduce a lesson on rhyming words. Another idea would be to use the book as way to help children grasp the concept of direction. I would have the students experiment with different manipulative to determine if something is upside down or right side up.

Silly Sally is a rhyming and repetitive story. She goes to town walking backwards and upside down and meets various animal characters along the way. The animals follow Silly Sally's lead to town, walking backwards and upside down. They meet Neddy Butttercup along the way that helps them walk

forward and right side up the rest of the way to town.

This story reminds me of my cousin Sally. Growing up we would call her Silly Sally or Sally Wally.

In the classroom I would name the animal as we came upon them in the book and ask the kids what would rhym with each one.

A good book to talk about rhyming words. Ask them what words rhyme and why they rhyme. Also they could write about a silly day that they have had and what they did that was silly.

This story would be fun and could be a good tool for Reading Comprehension. It is about Silly Sally and Ned Buttercup and they walk into town upside down and along their walk to met up with different animals. The book could be used as a tool for memorization, rhyming, and or fluency.

Silly Sally went to town, walking backwards, upside down. She met various animals who joined her in fun and games along the way until they fell asleep, upside down. Then along came Neddy Buttercup, walking forwards, right side up. Neddy tickled them all awake.

This is a fun book, but the storyline was not that good. I did not really into the story. The benefit of this story is that the pictures makes me feel happy. It could be the watercolor color of the pictures.
