This book started nowhere, went nowhere and ended nowhere. Spongebob sets his sights on becoming the Manager of the new Crusty Crab 2. He gets disappointed when Squidward is appointed to the position. So he goes to the local kids bar and gets drunk happy on Ice Cream. Then comes back to find that
Apparently this was based off of a section of the Spongebob movie. Not worth it kids. This book is a waste of time.
As a kid book goes, the pictures do coincide with what the words say. But the word print is rather small for a child to read on their own. This book is really meant for two things. First, for an older kid...let's say 4th or 5th grader to remember the Spongebob movie and or Secondly, to promote the Spongebob movie.

the Flyin Dutchman is holding Mr. Crabs hostage because he thought Mr. Crabs stole some sort of crown. Then Spongebob declares that he will go on a mission to retrieve the crown......and that's it.
